Fritzwa International, a Ghana-based organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable individuals through vocational training, made a remarkable impression at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai from November 5-10, 2024. With support from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), the organization showcased an array of handmade products crafted by its trainees, highlighting the skill and creativity of Ghanaian artisans.
The CIIE, renowned as the world’s largest import trade fair, provided Fritzwa International with a platform to exhibit “Made in Ghana” goods to a global audience. This annual event brought together over 70 countries and international organizations, facilitating connections between exporters and Chinese buyers. In 2023, the expo generated transactions worth $78.4 billion, and this year’s participation by African businesses further underscored the continent’s growing presence in global trade.
For Fritzwa International, the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event signified a milestone in promoting Ghanaian craftsmanship internationally. GEPA played a pivotal role in facilitating their attendance, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to expanding Ghanaian businesses’ reach into lucrative markets like China. The exhibition not only allowed the organization to sell its products but also fostered new partnerships and showcased the potential of African exports to a diverse audience.
